Saturday Update…Fay soaking the Panhandle, North Georgia to Have Some Showers Today!
![]()
Fay is moving westward along the Florida Panhandle and is soaking that region along with south Georgia and Alabama. Locally, we should begin to see some cloud cover through the afternoon Saturday. Our north Georgia viewing area can expect some periodic showers today and tonight as the circulation around Fay spins to our south. This chance of scattered showers can still be expected tonight over north Georgia and Alabama. As Fay passes farther west to the MS/AL coast Sunday, a few showers will still be possible Sunday in our local region of Georgia and Alabama. By Sunday night and Monday, the southerly circulation from Fay might finally send a little more moisture over our local region including Tennessee. These means that scattered showers will be possible Sunday night and Monday. We will continue to monitor the chances for showers locally for Monday night and Tuesday. So, as we have mentioned in the blog all week, the Monday through Wednesday time period would be the best chance to see rain and it may finally come to pass. With a 9 inch rainfall deficit for the year, we need every drop!!!!
