After a hot & dry pattern lately, we might begin to see a brief change for the weekend. Friday should remain hot and dry with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 under a partly to mostly sunny sky. Some scattered clouds should begin to move in Saturday from the northwest. We will be closely watching a possible thunderstorm complex to our northwest begin moving southeast toward the TN Valley. This could create the possibility of some late afternoon & evening t-showers for the 4th of July holiday, but mainly on a scattered basis. We could see a better coverage of showers and thunderstorms Sunday as an area of disturbed weather continues to move in from the northwest. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of TN in a “Slight Risk” category for the possibility of severe storms.

The outlook for Monday also includes the slight possibility of severe storms.

After a showery start to the upcoming week, it looks as if a hot and dry pattern should resume for the middle and late stage of the week.
